Event Description:
Huntington County Special Olympics will be hosting the 10th Annual Huntington County Invitational Basketball Tournament on Saturday, January 14 at Huntington North High School. Opening ceremonies begin at 9:00am with the competition tipping off at 9:30am and continuing throughout the day.
Tournament organizers are expecting 55 teams from 13 Indiana counties. Over 500 Special Olympics athletes will be participating in 5v5 games, 3v3 half-court games and basketball skills events.
The Huntington County Senior Vikings (youth)play the Howard County Senior Wildkats at 9:30am. The Huntington County Vikings will play the Cass County Lions at 10:30am. Also, at 10:30am, the Huntington County Thunder will play the Elkhart County Wizards.
Other area teams participating include those from Allen County, Cass County, DeKalb County, Elkhart County, Fulton County, Grant County, Howard County, Jay County, Madison County, St. Joseph County, Wabash County and Wayne County.
No admission is charged. Concessions are available.
