Huntington University seeks a DIRECTOR OF MULTICULTURAL LEADERSHIP.

The director of multicultural leadership assumes an active role in cultivating an enriching experience for North American Minority and International students at Huntington University by providing spiritual, academic and relational support. The director works collaboratively with faculty, staff and administration to facilitate discipleship opportunities and supportive care through mentoring relationships, programming and advocacy. In addition, the director will collaborate with student life staff to provide co-curricular experiences that help prepare students to engage a diverse global society.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a strong desire to serve others and a commitment to being a faithful steward of university resources
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • A high level of problem solving skills
  • Earned bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience and understanding of Christian higher education
  • Successful experience in facilitating cross-cultural activities and diversity initiatives
  • Successful experience in leading students at the postsecondary level
  • Successful experience in ministry and Christian discipleship
  • Vision for building strong intercultural relationships between diverse student groups, and among University faculty and staff
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and non-university entities
